"Spring Lake’s Environmental Advisory Committee has been working diligently to implement programs that will contribute to resident’s and the Village’s efforts in becoming more environmentally friendly. The Fall 2009 Survey results and recommendations were presented to Council, which will be made available shortly on our website - www.springlakealberta.com or for viewing at the Village Office.    Additionally, they have organized a Water Barrel Purchase Program, which you will find attached. If you would like to purchase a water barrel, view color swatches, or pick up a full color brochure on these, please come by the Village Office. All orders must be placed and paid in full by April 1, 2010.   In addition, please check the bulletin boards and website for information regarding an upcoming composting workshop."

The Environmental Advisory Committee
Calendar is here!

Thank you residents for your patience in waiting for the 1st Annual EAC Calendar.  Because of the delay the EAC would like to offer these calendars for $8.00 each.  Please pick up your calender at the Village Office.
The EAC had many entries with very interesting aspects of the environment portrayed in true photographic form. The winners of the contest each won a $30 gift card, along with a copy of the 2011 calendar, which was made up of winning photos.
The winners of the top three photos chosen are:
Janet Jethon of her Lightening (February 2011)
Lindsey Stupar of her Frosty fence (January 2011)
Cindy Pearce of her Broken dock (April 2011)
a Special "Thank you" to Marilyn Madsen for her contributions to the project.
